Wide Receivers

Full Christian Kirk Scouting Report

Played in as a slot receiver at Texas A&M. One of the most explosive kick returners in college football. Has nice size for a slot receiver, great build, he has good weight and arm length.

Athletic Ability is great, quick player, very explosive, balanced and agile, impressive change of direction ability. Comes in handy for his special teams’ game. Good Mental processing, understands the game situation, knows where the sticks are and knows he must get out of bounds. Knows when to make a possession catch or when he can make a run after the catch. Good Competitive Toughness, fights hard for the first down, will block downfield, will come back in a game despite an injury. Good Play Speed, dangerous in open space, great acceleration, some elusive ability, can make an average opponent miss. Good Hands, consistent hands, makes the basket catches, reliable in short to intermediate routes, can make the grab despite the heavy pressure. Good separation, created via quickness and good route running, his hard fakes allow a lot of space, powerful cuts, quick and smooth short routes. Good Body control/jump ball ability, adjusts body to a throw that is behind him, one of the best at adjusting to low throws. Good downfield playmaker, nice job of tracking the ball, best in the deep middle of the field.

Solid Play Strength, his smaller size will make it difficult for him to break tackles from strong opponents, mainly safeties and linebackers. However, he is physically built and can overpower some corners. He shouldn’t be used as a redzone fade threat, his height isn’t going to help him in those situations. Not elite speed, he is fast, but not John Ross fast.

Overall, Kirk is going to be a playmaker at the next level. His quickness will be useful in a short passing game. Should be the primary kick returner for whoever drafts him. Could be a good starter in the league if put in the right situation.

Full Courtland Sutton Scouting Report

Played in a hurry up spread offense at SMU. Back to Back seasons of 1,000 yards receiving with at least 10 touchdowns. Sutton is a tall outside receiver with long arms and sculpted frame.

Athletic Ability is good, great balance, some quickness, nice change of direction ability and lateral movement. Good Competitive Toughness, despite getting an injured in a game he will return and play with the same level of intensity as he was before, will block downfield, has confidence in his game. Good Play Speed, if he has some space he won’t be caught, has some deep speed. Great Play Strength, his great size will allow him to dominate smaller corners, plays physical, good upper body strength, can be useful as a run blocker. Great Hands, catches the ball away from his body, very large catching radius, very consistent and reliable in all stages of the field. Great Jump Ball and Body Control, has the body control to pull of the back-shoulder catches, positions himself to be in position to give him a high chance of making a catch, times the ball at the perfect time to catch the ball at its highest point. Great Route Running, has the “stop on a dime” ability, sharp comeback routes, great rocker step, stays on STEM, releases perfectly on his corner routes. Good Downfield Playmaker, has good focus downfield and will be a tremendous Red Zone target.

Solid Mental Processing, when he ran a WR screen, he did not like to go N-S if the play was broken, tried to run E-W and the play would end in a big loss. Can lose focus of the game situation at times, may draw unsportsmanlike penalties if the team gets under his skin. His separation needs to improve, deep downfield he will have to deal with a lot pressure on go routes. Not going to create much separation vs fast opponents in general.

Overall, Sutton could be effective in multiple situations. He should be the primary red zone target for whichever offense he will be apart of.

Full D.J. Chark Scouting Report

Outside WR and PR for LSU. First year being the primary receiver and he stepped up big time compared to his previous seasons. Has good height, his weight is a little light for size. He is lanky, long arms, defined arm muscles, long legs with not much build.

Athletic Ability is good, explosive, some quickness, hips are flexible, nice balance. Good Mental Processing, anticipates when he will become open and demands for the ball, has nice vision that will be utilized during special teams. Good Competitive Toughness, stays in the game mentally despite having a drop earlier in the game, willing blocker. Great Play Speed, deep speed is very impressive, has nice acceleration, very smooth runner. Good Hands, can make some ridiculous grabs, very strong hands, can make some catches with traffic all over him. Good Separation, created purely by his speed, has the quickness to create separation at the POA. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, may be a little late to make some adjustments, but he can be used for back shoulder throws, high points the ball over the defender. Good route running, has a nice comeback route, sinks hips, nice double move. Good Downfield playmaking, can make the over the shoulder grab along the sideline, his speed allows him to be a vertical threat.

Slim frame limits his strength, he will struggle vs good jammers, may be a willing blocker, but doesn’t have the strength to stay engaged, would be shocked to see him shed tackles from average opponents. He had a lot of issues with finishing plays vs tight coverage, he had bad hand placement at times. Needs to be better at tracking the deep ball better.

Overall, Chark is a speedster with good size. He has potential to be a good possibly even a great starter if he can consistently finish making the catch. His speed will interest many NFL teams, he would best fit a team that takes more deep shots than average.

Full Anthony Miller Scouting Report

Miller was moved around at different WR positions at Memphis. The primary receiving target and a lot of his snaps was as an X receiver. He has the size to be a slot receiver in the league, just a little below average in height and weight, but he is built for his size.

Athletic Ability is good, nice hip flexibility that allows him to show great change of direction, nice balance, explosive ability. Good Mental Processing, great awareness along the sideline, understands how to utilize his advantages in a one on one matchup. Good Competitive Toughness, willing blocker down the field, fights very hard to move the sticks. Good Play Speed, his deep speed will allow him to break for a long one at any moment, elusive enough to weave his way through the defense, will be a guy with high yards after catch average. Great Hands, catches away from his body, capable of pulling off some ridiculous catches, a reliable receiver at all stages of the field. Great Separation, a receiver who always to be open, his hard fakes, great route running, and deep speed make it easy for him to be open. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, fantastic job of positioning self to make the grab, good at timing the ball and catching it at its highest point. He shows off his Good Route Running by his quickness being used in and out of breaks, good overall release in the short-mid ranges. Great Downfield Playmaking, tracking ability will allow him to be a consistent vertical threat, his hands will allow him to make the basket catches over the shoulder.

He is not a strong receiver and that may push him to play as only a slot receiver, will be surprising to see him create yards after contact. His Height will limit him in some jump ball situations.

Overall, Miller could be a great starter if given a good QB. He should be used as a slot receiver at first, but if becomes strong maybe he could be used as the X receiver.

Full D.J. Moore Scouting Report

Primary receiver at Maryland. Moved around from outside to inside receiver. Does not appear to match his listed height and weight, seems to be a tad shorter and a little lighter despite having a muscular build.

Athletic Ability is Great, flexible hips, balanced, quick feet, has leaping ability, suddenness. Good Mental Processing, aware of the sideline and markers, sees when the QB needs help and will adjust his route, recognizes the defensive coverage pre-snap. Good play speed, shows some deep speed, capable of breaking away from some DBs. Good Hands, strong hands, great concentration, despite the great coverage he can still make the grab, can make some ridiculous one-handed grabs. Good separation, created via quickness and route running with some physicality mixed in. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, terrific body control, has the concentration to make a catch over a defender, shows he can adjust mid-air to make a catch. Good Route Running, shows good release, capable of doing the back-shoulder, breaks down for sharp routes, nice double moves, on deep routes he gives space along the sideline for the QB to work with. Good Downfield Playmaker, vertical threat, tracks the ball very well, will go up and get the ball rather letting the DBs be in the mix.

He coasts way too much, now it’s okay to coast from time to time, but almost every time he was not the primary read he coasted his route. His size will likely limit him to only be a slot receiver at the next level. His overall play strength is not too impressive, but he plays physical and will have moments where he wins the one on one matchups via strength. He will allow some passes to go into his chest. Not the best for a jump ball especially vs a much taller opponent with goo leaping ability.

Overall, Moore is a good slot receiving prospect. He does have potential to be great, but he needs more effort on every down. He should still have good production numbers regardless of the level of the QB play. He would fit a system that likes to take deep shots.

Full Calvin Ridley Scouting Report

Ridley was in a run heavy offense at Alabama and his production level was affected because of the play of the QB. Slimmer frame, long arms, will need to add some weight.

Athletic Ability is great, has quickness, explosive, great balance, change of direction, fluid hips, has leaping ability. Good Mental Processing, understands he must adjust his route when the QB is scrambling, finds the open zones of the defense. Good competitive toughness, a willing blocker – that includes the bigger LBs, comes back in a game after a minor injury. Great Play Speed, has the deep speed, DBs won’t catch him in open space, an elusive player who can accelerate to his top speed quickly. Good Hands, catches away from his body, can make a catch that is thrown behind him. Great Separation, created by his speed and great route running, his routes are very quick with a great release. Good Body Control/Jump Ball ability, his Body Control is outstanding he can torque his body to stop and make a catch that is thrown poorly behind him. Great Downfield Playmaker, tracks the ball well, makes the over the shoulder grab, adjusts his speed to make the catch.

Not the strongest receiver prospect, would be a rare sight to see him break tackles from average opponents. There are times where he could possibly make a catch if he were to dive, but doesn’t always like to dive. His hands are not the strongest, in traffic he will likely not hang onto the ball. His production level should be better at the next level, but the question is: “Can he have good production without a good QB”?

Overall, Ridley is going to be a great starter in the league. He just needs a quality QB who can take deep shots downfield. His great speed would be very useful for many teams at the next level.

Full Allen Lazard Scouting Report

Z wide receiver at Iowa State, the primary receiving target. A very tall receiver with good weight and build. Stepped his game up to the next level for his senior season.

Athletic Ability is good, a balanced, nice leaping ability, hips are solid for someone that size. Solid Mental Processing, aware of the sideline and down and distance, knows how to find the open zones of the defense. Good Competitive Toughness, a willing blocker, not shy to make a big play in clutch situations, shows a passion for the game. Good Play Strength, his physicality will allow him to win most of the one on one matchups with corners, allows him to be a reliable run blocker, difficult player to bring down. Great Hands, has the hand-eye coordination to make the over the shoulder catch, very large catching radius. Great Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, torques body to put himself in the best position to make the catch, times the jump right – especially in the red zone, his size will win vs most opponents. Good Route Runner, stays tight to the original route – especially with the short routes like drags, Ins and outs, nice job of sinking his hips to make a sharp turn. Great Downfield playmaker, one of the best redzone threats in the draft, he can be useful on taking a deep shot along the sideline.

Speed is not his best trait. He’s solid for a big man, but he will struggle to create any separation if it’s a foot race. Needs to be a little quicker if he wants to make an elusive move.

Overall, Lazard is a good prospect. I would like to see him be used in a system that runs the ball a lot and then give him a shot in the redzone. Should be a starter as soon as he enters the league.

Full James Washington Scouting Report

Played in a spread offense at Oklahoma State where he was the Primary target for QB prospect Mason Rudolph. The offense involved him being targeted for many deep shots. Shows good build, shorter than the average outside receiver, but he has the weight for it.

Athletic Ability is good, explosive player with nice balance, shows some leaping ability. Good Mental Processing, recognizes the one on one matchup and understands how to correctly take advantage, adjusts with the scrambling QB. Good Competitive Toughness, despite a nasty injury he will fight through the pain and come back in. Great Play Speed, his deep speed will allow him to be a vertical threat at the next level, wins almost every one-on-one matchup and that includes when in off-man. Good hands, reliable in all stages of the field, one of the best at tracking a ball in for an over the shoulder basket catch. Creates good separation when he uses his explosive athletic ability to accelerate a yard or two away from the defender, easily shown on vertical routes. Elite Downfield Playmaker, arguably the top vertical threat in the draft, adjusts his route to make the grab – de-accelerates on throws that are behind, very reliable in the deep middle.

Not the strongest wide receiver, but still has some strength. Nice job staying on his stem. Not they type of player to use in jump ball situations, not the best body control for adjusting to a back-shoulder throw. Didn’t run the entire route tree at Oklahoma State and will have to see how well he can break on his cuts at the combine.

Overall, Washington has potential to be a good X WR. He will be very useful in an offense that will take shots down the field.

Full Michael Gallup Scouting Report

The primary receiver at Colorado State. A little bit on the tin side, body frame is capable of adding another 10 pounds, long arms and legs, only two seasons playing WR, appears to be physically built.

Athletic Ability is good, balance, shows some quickness, has a leaping ability. Good Mental Processing, identifies how to attack the opponent, recognizes the defenses’ scheme. Good Competitive Toughness, willing to throw a block downfield, confident player. Good Play Speed, has a longer stride, shows some deep speed, has some elusive ability. Good Play strength, physically dominates vs press man, usually wins the hand battles, nice stiff arm. Great Hands, can make the over the shoulder catch, very strong hands, reliable in all stages of the field. Good Separation, his quickness and strength will allow him to separate form the press, can get inside easily. Great Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, has the athletic ability to twist his body mid-air to position himself to make the catch, will be used for back shoulder throws, high points the ball. Good Route Runner, adjusts his route to find the open area of the defense, solid release from his stem. Good downfield playmaker, has the vision to navigate through the defense, nice tracking ability to make a basket catch.

He has struggled vs corners that have great speed, he did not seem to be able to separate. Not as successful when playing a corner who is in off-man. Have seen some double catches and body catches. Needs to work on being a better fundamental blocker. Should improve working back to the football, especially in tight coverage. Not perfect judgement when dealing with great defenders.

Overall, Gallup is a good prospect with the potential of being great. At this moment, I would say he is best suited to be an X, but he ahs the potential to become a Z receiver.  He is still learning how to become a WR and it’s impressive how much he has already accomplished.

Full Simmie Cobbs Jr. Scouting Report

Primary Outside receiver for Indiana, which is usually known for the running game. His Ohio State game this season put him on the map. Great height, solid weight for size, long arms, good build.

Athletic Ability is good, balanced WR, leaping ability, flexible. Not a change of direction guy, hips are a little tight. Good Mental Processing, recognizes man/zone coverage, adjusts to a scrambling QB, aware of sticks and sideline. Good Competitive Toughness, does not go down easy, uses his body as a weapon when blocking. Good Play strength, difficult for DBs to bring him down, wins vs press man via strength and hand use. Great Hands, very large hands, capable of making miraculous one-handed grabs, consistent intermediate catcher, tremendous concentration to make over the shoulder catch. Good Separation, best vs press man, hand use will allow him to break inside/outside. Great Body Control/Jump Ball, capable of catching over defenders, his 6’4” height gives him an advantage, catches the ball at it’s highest point, torques body in the air to position himself in the right spot. Good Downfield playmaker, red zone threat, consistent catcher deep. Solid Route Runner, on deep routes he gives enough space along the sideline, comes back to the ball.

Longer legs make it a little difficult for him to show his deep speed, not much acceleration. Not much elusive ability. Will not create much separation via quickness. There have been some mental lapses at times when tracking the ball in the middle of the field.

Overall, Cobbs is a good prospect. He is a little underrated. I would like to see him on a team that will utilize his jump ball ability in the red zone. His catching ability will have him on the highlight reel consistently.

Full Equanimeous St. Brown Scouting Report

Outside WR for Notre Dame. Really saw what he was capable of as a sophomore with a quality QB. St. Brown has great size, appears to be just a little shorter than his listed height, but is still tall with long arms. Weight is a little light, longer frame with long legs. Sculpted build.

Good Athletic Ability, moves better than the average large receiver, balanced, solid flexibility in hips. Good Mental Processing, recognizes the man/zone coverage, finds the open zone of the defense. Good Competitive Toughness, a willing blocker for his teammates, rare to see him coast through a route. Good Play Speed, shows off some deep speed, nice acceleration. Great Play Strength, difficult for physical corners to push him off his STEM, difficult tackle for CBs, can be used as a blocker. Good Hands, has the hands and concentration to make a low catch, large catching radius and appears to have large hands. Good Body Control/Jump Ball ability, his height gives him an advantage for jump balls, can twist his body mid-air to get the best position possible. Good Downfield Playmaking, nice tracking ability down the field along the sideline, his deep speed helps him be a threat.

Struggles to separate vs press man, doesn’t have the quickness to do so. Needs to do a better job of sinking his hips for sharp routes, his corner routes need to be more towards the corner – preventing the Safety from making a play on it. Not going to make every catch, especially contested catches, will allow the ball to hit his chest rather than his hands. Production fell greatly without a quality QB.

Overall, EQ St. Brown is an interesting prospect. I believe he can be a WR2 somewhere, but it will likely require a quality QB. I want him to be used more for the deep shots and red zone targets.

Full Dante Pettis Scouting Report

X receiver at Washington and was the PR and KR. Broke the NCAA record for most Punt Return Touchdowns in a collegiate career. Solid height, weight is a little light, solid build, good arm length, slimmer frame overall.

Good Athletic Ability, has quickness, explosive ability, balanced, some leaping ability, change of direction is solid. Great Mental Processing, identifies man/zone, aware of the sideline, adjusts to help a scrambling QB, great vision to be a PR in the league. Good Competitive Toughness, tries to play through pain, effort, will block for teammates downfield. Good Play Speed, shows great acceleration out in space, some elusive ability, better than average deep speed. Good Hands, reliable at all stages of the field, high points the ball, catches away from his body. Good Separation, created via quickness and his route running ability, his deep speed will allow him to create separation vs the average corners/safeties. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, does a nice job adjusting to the back-shoulder throw, his leaping ability will give him a chance vs tall corners for jump balls. Good Route Runner, does a tremendous job sinking hips for sharp routes, comes back to the football, nice release. Good Downfield Playmaker, good tracking ability, makes the over the shoulder grab.

He is not known for his strength. He will lose matchups in press man vs strong corners and he won’t create any separation. Struggles to make a catch when trying to make a catch in traffic. Would be surprising to see him break tackles.

Overall, Pettis is a good prospect. I would expect him to be primarily known for his Punt returning abilities. He could be an X or a slot receiver in the league as well.

Full Marcell Ateman Scouting Report

Z receiver at Oklahoma State. The primary red zone target. Large Receiver, great height with good weight, long arms with good build, long legged WR.

Solid Athletic Ability, not known for quickness, not going to be agile or have much explosiveness, hips are a little tight, but has great balance. Good mental Processing, recognizes zone vs man, takes advantage of his small opponents, aware of the sideline. Good competitive Toughness, came back from a broken foot in 2016 to play his best collegiate season, a willing blocker down the field. Great Play Strength, very strong WR, easier for him to stay on STEM compared to average, wins the position battle, difficult tackle for a lot of average corners. Good Hands, has a large catching radius, catches with his hands and not his body. Good Separation, created by physicality at the LOS, his hard fakes will create separation deep down the field. Great Body Control/Jump Ball ability, will win the jump ball it’s a 70/30 for him, times the ball well in the red zone, can adjust to a throw behind him. Good Downfield Playmaking, a red zone threat, solid at tracking the football, can make the over the shoulder catch.

His long legs will prevent him to accelerate like an average WR. Not elusive, deep speed is below average. He did not run the full route tree at OK State, which will likely be a learning curve. Tends to drift away on his out routes. When going for the deep ball, he needs to high point the ball – currently allowing DBs to make a play on the ball.

Overall, Ateman is a solid prospect. I like him in certain situations, primarily for Red Zone use. He may need a little time adjusting to the new route tree in the NFL, but he could become a solid starter one day if given the opportunity.

Full Deon Cain Scouting Report

Outside receiver at Clemson, last season he stepped up to be the primary receiving target after being a part of a duo with Mike Williams. Longer receiver, Good height for an outside receiver, seems to be a little lean for it though – could add some muscle, long arms and legs.

Athletic Ability is good, has some explosive ability, some quickness, nice leaping ability. Good Competitive Toughness, shows fiery emotion on the field, willing to block downfield for his teammate. Good Play Speed, shows deep speed capability, shows acceleration, wins easily vs average corners in off man. Good separation, created by his quickness to get to the MOF, his deep speed and his hard fakes in routes. Good Body Control/Jump Ball ability, has back shoulder ability, goes up to get the ball, can catch over a defender. Good route Running, sharp out routes, nice job staying on STEM in mid to deep routes. Good Downfield playmaker, deep threat, has good tracking, and the quality deep speed comes into play, can be used in red zone situations depending the matchup.

He has had off-the-field concerns that forced him to be suspended for the 2016 championship game (Failed drug test). His slimmer frame will limit his overall strength, not a difficult tackle, will struggle vs strong/physical corners. Shown to struggle to create separation vs press man. He needs to be more consistent catching the football, hands need to be stronger, has had mental lapses – running without the football. Though, there has been many outrageous completed catches by Cain throughout the year.

Overall, Cain is a solid prospect. His consistency with catching the must improve to become a starter at the next level. I would like him to be in an offense that uses a solid amount of deep shots in the game.

Full DaeSean Hamilton Scouting Report

Hamilton was used mainly in the slot at Penn State. 4-year starter and captain. Little undersized to be considered an outside receiver, but he fits the height and weight needed to be a slot. Biggest concern is his arm length which limits his catching radius. Has a solid build for both upper and lower body.

Athletic Ability is good, shows some leaping ability, some agility as well, not going to see him be very explosive. Good Mental Processing, aware of the first down marker, identifies man/zone, shows nice vision in the open field.  Good Competitive Toughness, puts body on the line to make the play, a willing blocker down the field, team captain. Good Play Speed, shows some elusiveness, with about average deep speed, will be a YAC guy in the league. Good Hands, has made some ridiculous catches, especially in tight coverage, very reliable in short areas of the field, can make the catch despite rain. Good body control/jump ball ability, shows he can adjust to a late throw, his leaping ability will give him a chance for jump ball situations. Great Route Runner, showed quick footwork with sharp routes, always seems to become open vs zone coverage. Good Downfield Playmaker, shows tracking ability, can weave through traffic, best when in the deep middle of the field.

Not going to dominate people physically, could use some more strength to become a better blocker. Though he has been able to hang onto the ball despite the big hit. Has struggled to create separation vs corners playing press man – mainly from lack of acceleration. His catching radius may be a concern to some teams, his inconsistency with catching during the East-West and Senior Bowl practices was also concerning.

Overall, Hamilton is a quality slot receiver. I could see him becoming a solid starter in the league if given the chance. Hopefully a team will use him in the middle of the field to utilize his downfield playmaking, YAC, and his toughness.

Full Tre'Quan Smith Scouting Report

Smith was an outside receiver for UCF. Received first-team All-Conference his final collegiate season and helped lead UCF to an Undefeated season. Average height for a receiver, but has freakishly long arms, weight matches his height, but his long arms make him appear more lanky.

Athletic Ability is good, shows some quickness off the LOS, some explosiveness, well balanced, not great COD. Good Mental Processing, aware on when to change his route to help a scrambling QB, senses the sideline. Good Competitive Toughness, willing blocker, love his physical play, fights hard for extra yards. Good Play Speed, nice acceleration and shows some deep speed when he needs to. Good Play Strength, plays stronger than he is, good core strength, tacklers need to make sure they wrap him up or he will likely break the tackle, he can be used as a blocker. Good Hands, he can make some miraculous catches, catches that thought to be physically impossible, will make a catch despite the heavy pressure or the incoming hit, large catching radius. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, high points the ball and positions himself to be the only one to make a catch on the ball. Good Downfield Playmaker, can track a ball over the shoulder, can be used for deep ball situations.

Creates Separation vs press man with a quick swim move to the inside, but at the top of his release he will struggle to create any separation vs physical man corners. His routes could improve, doesn’t sink his hips enough on quick routes, tends to jog on some routes. The most confusing trait about Smith is his catching, one play I see the most incredible catch I’ve possibly seen, but on a routine wide-open catch attempt he may drop it. Very confusing. Inconsistency with catching may hurt him in the draft.

Overall, I like Smith, a good prospect who can grow. Improving his route running and improving his catching could give him a starting opportunity before we know it. I would like him to go to a team that would utilize his blocking ability with his ability to make insane catches.

Full Daurice Fountain Scouting Report

Played as an outside receiver for UNI. Played very well in the East West Shrine game. Has great physical size to be an outside receiver, great build to go along with height, has long arms and legs.

Athletic Ability is great, a very explosive ability, insane leaping ability, well balanced player, moves very well, fluid hips. Good Competitive Toughness, captain shows passion on the field. Great Play Speed, shows off his deep speed, acceleration, consistently was able to get behind the FCS defense, playmaker after the catch. Play Strength is solid, wins the hand fighting, can win vs the weak competition. Good hands, has made some ridiculous catches, including one handed, large catching radius, doesn’t catch with his body. Solid Separation ability, created via physicality and deep speed. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, can make the back-shoulder catch, adjust to a poor thrown ball. Good Downfield playmaker, has tracking ability, can be utilized as a red zone target because of his leaping ability.

Needs to have better on field awareness, has missed out on some opportunities because he is too close to the sideline. Needs to do a better job of downshifting for sharp routes. His production level was inconsistent throughout the season, but his QB was not much of a help. Confusing on why he wasn’t invited to the Combine.

Overall, Fountain has a lot of potential. His speed and athletic ability will intrigue many teams, his pro day numbers were very impressive as well. I would like to see him start out as a role player who could become a potential starter down the road. Give him a quality QB!

Full J'Mon Moore Scouting Report

Z receiver at Mizzou. The Spread offense limited the number of routes he ran. Repetitive Routes. Has the size to be an NFL receiver, Great height and weight, muscular build, long arms and about average hand size.

Good Athletic Ability, balanced, very explosive first step, has a leaping ability, athletic frame will allow him to improve. Good Mental Processing, recognizes man/zone, identifies cover 2 and adjusts his route to find the open area of the field. Great Play Strength, very difficult tackle for average DBs, plays very physical, strong upper body, can win vs press because of strength. Great Hands, has a large catching radius because of his long arms, catches away from his body, good tacking ability. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, times the ball and jumps at the appropriate time to catch the ball at it’s highest point, his core strength will allow him to be used for back shoulder throws. Good Downfield playmaker, nice tracking ability and can make the basket catch, can be a target for the Red Zone.

He needs to show more effort at times. I rarely saw him block for his teammate, reluctant to dive for balls that seemed to be catchable, some players can get under his skin. His speed isn’t terrible, but I would be shocked for him to run a 4.4 at the combine, not an elusive receiver, has SOME deep speed with acceleration. Struggles to create separation when a DB is playing in off-man, not enough deep speed to do so. The limited types of routes ran at Mizzou is not his fault, it just forces him to learn more routes at the next level. Could do a better job breaking down for sharp routes.

Overall, Moore is a solid prospect. I believe he will be a starter soon in the league, but just needs some more effort. He has the size and the hands to be in the NFL.

Full Deontay Burnett Scouting Report

Slot WR at USC. The primary target in his final collegiate season and he really exploded. Over 1,100 yards. A smaller receiver, a little under the average height, he is well underweight, lanky arms and legs. Must add build.

Good Athletic Ability, a quick receiver, tremendous balance is shown on multiple occasions, hips are very fluid. Good Mental Processing, can diagnose the man/zone coverage, adjusts his route to get to the open zone of the defense, moves with a scrambling QB, solid understanding of his field awareness. Great Competitive Toughness, reaches for the 1st down marker in very crucial moments, willing (to attempt to be a) blocker, he will dive for the ball in a pile. Good Play Speed, shows deep speed, some may say he is quicker than fast, but he is still fast, acceleration is there. Good Hands, catches away from his body, very reliable at all stages of the field, has the concentration to make the catch through a tight window. Good Separation, creates separation by deep speed and quickness, best vs off-man. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, has the body control to adjust to throws well behind him and has enough control to be a consistent catcher when attempting diving catches. Good Route Running, great release for short routes – especially for slants, sinks hips for the shaper routes. Great Downfield Playmaker, has the tracking ability needed, going to get behind the defense from his knowledge and deep speed.

He is limited because of his slim frame and overall weight. He’s not a prospect that will truck his opponent or break many tackles, not an effective blocker, what is most concerning is his ability to hang onto a ball/catch after a big hit. Won’t create separation via strength. Not often would you see him win the jump ball in the end zone. Needs to work on coming back to the football on certain routes.

Overall, Burnett is a good prospect who is only lacking strength. If Burnett were to greatly improve his build and strength, he could potentially be a top slot receiver in the league. The key would for him to keep his speed and quickness which is never easy to do. I believe Burnett will see time early in his career, hopefully he has a quality QB.

Full Braxton Berrios Scouting Report

Berrios was the slot receiver for Miami, one of the primary targets. Also, was the punt returner for the U. A true slot receiver in size short receiver with short arms, may have reached his max weight which is still undersized for the average WR.

Athletic Ability is good, known for his quickness, explosive ability, well balanced, could improve his change of direction and overall hip flexibility. Good Mental Processing, aware of the first down marker, finds the open zones of the defense. Good Competitive Toughness, has a bit of a swagger to him, he has the mindset to make plays in clutch situations, a willing blocker for his teammates. Good Hands, soft hands, very reliable receiver – especially in short areas of the field, has the hand-eye concentration to make the catch over his head. Good Separation, created via his great quickness and his route running. Great Route Runner, great release at the top of his STEM, sharp quick routes especially for slants, doesn’t drift away from his route. Good Downfield Playmaking, good tracking ability, and adjusts well to the throw.

He is a quicker than fast player and does not have the average deep speed. His size will limit his strength, but what I like to see is how much he competes with physicality. He plays stronger than he actually is. His size will limit how well he could perform in jump ball situations, he may have some leaping ability, but it will be a struggle going against a taller corner or safety. His short arms will limit his catching radius.

Overall, Berrios is a fun player to watch and is a pure slot receiver. I would expect a team who likes to move the ball slowly down the field to take him in the draft. He should start very soon, does not have much work to do to get to NFL level, just not the highest ceiling.

Full Auden Tate Scouting Report

Z WR at Florida State, his main job was to be the primary target for jump ball situations. A very tall receiver and has the weight to match it, long legs, muscular frame, arms come with his size.

Solid Athletic Ability, not a player you would see to make an outrageous elusive move, hips are considered stiff, quickness just isn’t there, but he has great balance. Good Mental Processing, understands the red zone coverages and he finds the open zones of the defense very well. Good Competitive Toughness, played through a shoulder injury all season long, very tough guy. Great Play Strength, his strength can be useful vs LBs, despite the very strong opponents he is not fazed, a player that can win vs physical man corners, hangs onto the ball after a big hit. Good Hands, large hands give him a better chance, consistent, has a large catching radius, catches away from his body, will make some unimaginable catches. Great Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, absolutely incredible how consistently he wins in jump ball situations, great at high pointing the ball, capable of making the back-shoulder grab, his jump ball chances are more like 70/30 rather than 50/50. Good Downfield playmaker, known for his redzone ability, good concentration to make an over the shoulder catch along the sideline.

He is not known for his speed. Not a breakaway player. Below average is the nicer way of saying it. He will struggle to create separation, especially vs press, his lack of quickness will limit his separation ability. His routes need to improve when attempting a sharp route, he fails to really sink his hips, and his release for deep routes is rough. Has coasted when attempting to run block.

Overall, Tate is a great red zone receiver, but about solid between the 20s. If used properly he could be a quality receiver in the league. Unlikely to be a starter, possibly down the road, but for now I see him as a role player.

Full Trey Quinn Scouting Report

Played in a hurry up spread offense at SMU. Had a breakout season as a junior. 114 Rec, 1,236yds, 13TDs. Only 22 Receptions in the first two seasons. He is not large enough to be considered an outside receiver, but that is where he saw most of his reps in college. He does not have the desired arm length of a receiver, good weight for size, hand size is large, good overall build.

Athletic Ability is good, shows quickness, broke some ankles in college, good balance, some agility. Not much explosiveness. Good Mental Processing, recognizes coverage pre-snap and finds the open zone of the defense. Good Competitive Toughness, willing blocker, will chase down a CB who made an INT, has the mental toughness to focus in late game situations. Great Hands, almost elite, hands catcher, very rare for him to drop a pass, reliable in all stages of the field, could be considered Elite when focusing on just the short area of the field. Good Route Runner, does a nice job breaking down on cross facing routes, like the slant or a corner-post, his release will allow him to create separation. Solid Downfield Playmaker, good concentration downfield to track the ball in.

Does not have the deep speed that a lot of outside receivers have. He ran a 10.93 100m dash in high school, but it’s hard to see that kind of speed from him when trying to outrun a corner. Acceleration is solid, could be better. Not known for his strength and will not physically dominate his opponent. His lack of speed limits his overall ability to create separation. Not the type of receiver that will be used for the jump ball situations.

Overall, Quinn is a very reliable receiver. He will be used in the slot for the short throws that will help teams pick up 5 to 10 yards. If used properly, he could become like an Amendola. A quality role player.

Full Dylan Cantrell Scouting Report

Outside receiver for Texas Tech. Former high school and college teammate of Patrick Mahomes. Played in a hurry-up spread offense. Defenses usually played back to prevent the deep ball. Cantrell has good height and weight for the outside receiver position in the league, hands are leaning towards the small side, arm length is below average. Thicker upper and lower body.

Athletic Ability is good, impressed at the combine. Has absolutely insane jumping ability, shows tremendous balance. Biggest issue he has is his lack of quickness and his explosive ability could improve. Good Mental Processing, understands the coverage pre-snap, very aware of the sideline. Good Competitive Toughness, has some dawg in him, willing blocker, leader, aggressive mindset when taking on opponents. Good Play Strength, tough to bring down, nasty stiff arm, can and should be used as a blocker, will break poor-technique tackles. Great Hands, very reliable in short areas of the field, can make a ridiculous grab in traffic, highly unlikely he will drop a pass. Good Body Control/Jump Ball Ability, he has the body control to adjust mid-air to a poorly thrown ball and his ball skills will allow him to make the catch, he can be used for jump ball situations I just want to see his Combine jumping ability more.

Not a speedster, would be unlikely for him to outrun a corner. Hardly any acceleration. The best way to cover Cantrell is by playing Press Man. Does not posses the quickness to create any separation. Does not run the entire route tree in the spread offense and will have a learning curve, needs to do a better job breaking down on sharp routes. Doesn’t have the deep speed to be used as a downfield playmaker, could be utilized in the redzone because of his height and leaping ability, but not a vertical threat.

Overall, Cantrell is one of the most reliable possession receivers in this draft. However, his lack of quickness and non-ability of creating separation at the POA will scare some teams. I believe he deserves to be drafted and be used as a role player.

Full Ray Bolden Scouting Report

Bolden was a captain for Stony Brook and was utilized as an outside receiver. However, because of his lack of size he should been used as a slot receiver. His size is already a disadvantage for him and going against the larger corners just adds to the difficulty.

Athletic Ability is good, shows quickness, flexible hips, some explosiveness, have seen a couple balance issues, but nothing noteworthy. Solid Mental Processing, has the field awareness to understand where the sideline and first down marker are, identifies when to adjust a route because of the off-man coverage. Solid Competitive Toughness, a leader, tries to fire his team up when needed. Good play speed, shows elusive ability, has some deep speed, will outrun the average corner. Good Hands, catches away from his body, reliable in all stages of the field, nice concentration despite the tight coverage. His separation is created mainly by quickness and his sharp route running in shorter routes. Shows body control when working on a back-shoulder fade or when getting two feet in the back of the end-zone. Good Downfield Playmaker, shows nice tracking ability, can make the over the shoulder basket catch.

With his limited size he will have limited strength, it’s shown when he faces a physical corner, hard for him to stay on STEM, can’t be used much as a blocker. Didn’t see him perform the entire route tree, he struggled more with the deeper routes because of the defense, but overall, they were not terrible. Wouldn’t consider him to be a speedster. Can’t be used for jump ball situations. Has a limited catching radius.

Overall, Bolden should have been used in the slot to possibly see more production. I really like his hands. I believe he can be a reliable receiver in the middle of the field. A team may try him out as a special teams guy and see what he can do as a role playing receiver.
